Job Description

You’ll do more than the expected. You’ll do the unexpected. 

This position is responsible for support the rating and underwriting of Corporations. This is to allow American Express revenues to be increased according to B2B strategy, but is mainly driven to protect our company from Credit losses.


  • Periodical review of international and domestic corporate customers that require special attention due to their risk profile.

  • Supporting the management of risk and minimizing credit losses through systematic Risk procedures and policy.

  • Obtaining necessary information to analyze the Client and make sound underwriting decisions.

  • Proposing and successfully implementing remediation for customers identified as high risk profiles, bringing the risk back to an acceptable level by the risk framework.

  • Ensuring, for identified high risk customers, the consistency and accuracy of customer account set-up, the appropriate customer account hierarchy for multi-entity corporate groups and a correct implementation of approved restructuring / remediation measures.

  • Fluent written and spoken English and one other European language preferred- especially Dutch, German.

  • Must have experience in the banking or financial industry in the area of risk analysis using internal and external risk indicators.

  • Must have knowledge and experience of accounting.

  • Must possess strong credit instincts and skills, and be able to act upon them in conjunction with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Must be decisive, diplomatic, flexible and self-reliant.

  • Ability to convey written and oral information clearly in both formal and informal settings.

  • Ability to react immediately to potential risk in a calm and organized manner.

  • Proven administrative time and organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to listen, identify and respond to Senior Management’s concerns relative to potential high risk exposure.

  • Experience in collection of small businesses and commercial credit is desirable.

  • In-depth awareness of credit policies, procedures, products and best practices and processes is desirable.

  • Direct experience in a credit environment is desirable.
