American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) has a stated ambition to become the leading payments and working capital provider for our Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers globally. This includes driving the convergence of our historical Charge and Lending product lines offering each customer business-sized purchase capacity, flexible payment options, meaningful rewards and the powerful backing of American Express.
Pay Over Time is GCS’ largest lending program and a significant revenue driver for the US SME business. This Manager/Sr Manager will help drive the continued convergence of our Charge and Lending product lines as well as manage the premium lending roadmap including all of the communications and training for our Servicing and Sales channels. This high-impact role has significant opportunities for exposure to leaders across GCS. Key internal partners include: Customer Marketing, Risk Management, Charge Product, Legal & Compliance, Servicing & Sales, and Technologies.
Drive the product roadmap for Pay Over Time in our servicing and sales channels, specifically growing our presence in our premium customer channels like USACG.
Design and execute communication and training strategies to enable servicing and field consultants to effectively speak to the benefits of Pay Over Time.
Lead the development of new client-facing collateral as needed.
Support the team on the embedded journey – refining existing product(s) and launch new embedded products (i.e Business Gold)
Ensuring a strong control and compliance environment
Partner with Customer Marketing, Risk Management, Charge Product, Legal & Compliance, World Service, Finance, and Technologies as needed
- Customer first mindset. Willingness to dive deep and develop a thorough understanding of the customer and what should be done to address their needs
Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data into actionable recommendations.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple stakeholders and high-visibility workstreams in parallel
Exceptional communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with a track record of influencing cross functional teams, peers, and senior leaders.
Comfortable operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment where you will be trusted as the owner
Effective problem solving and quick decision making skills, ability to prioritize, take initiative and be resourceful
Desire to own a P&L, lending experience a plus
Detail oriented, comfortable with managing technical/new product development processes
- Comfort with the regulatory environment
