The cross border payments (CBP) pricing manager role is a newly created role that will support the development and implementation of the CBP pricing strategy for the global commercial services (GCS) business, as well as the pricing strategy for the existing FXIP business.  GCS is currently investing in building a new platform to facilitate cross border payments with the vision of becoming the market leading alternative provider in SME cross border payments & helping our customers easily do business anywhere in the world with confidence. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the CBP project team (FXIP business, product, technology, marketing, controls, operations, UX) to develop a go to market pricing strategy.  The strategy will be focussed on four objectives:

  • Retain and grow legacy FXIP customer base

  • Expand FX as a service to SME cardmembers

  • Enable financing of cross border payments

  • Integrate FX within AP environments

The position will require a candidate with strong analytical abilities and a strategic mindset.  The candidate will be working in an ever evolving project team so will need to be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and need to build strong relationships across the wider project team.

The scope of the position will include, but not be limited to:

  • Establish short term pricing capability requirements for platform build

  • Conduct competitor analysis

  • Design tests for potential new FX pricing constructs

  • Pricing strategy for additional product features – focussing on customer relationship level pricing

  • Partner with control functions, product development and product management to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met

  • Design & launch pricing policies based on outcomes of competitor analysis and customer testing

  • Ongoing pricing support, monitoring and policy refinement for the new & existing platforms

  • Progressive experience in pricing or business/financial analysis, or related discipline
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to build effective relationships with business partners, peers and key stakeholders

  • Strong strategic decision making skills, with ability to assess key decision levers, make recommendations and balance shareholder and customer objectives

  • Excellent financial analysis and problem solving skills, with ability to translate complex financial terms into key insights with linkages to business strategy and objectives

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of FX industry & economics advantageous
