The Consumer Europe LFO team is a highly respected decision support finance team that works closely with multiple business partners to provide analytical and value-added recommendations that have tangible impact on business decisions, long range strategy and overall growth performance. With numerous stakeholders requiring consultative finance support, the level of exposure and insights to real business challenges and opportunities is high and often demanding.


This Manager role is part of the Continental Europe LFO team and is based in London. Travel to Continental European countries is expected.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-depth thought leadership and decision support on strategic initiatives and product developments to one or more European country’s Leadership Team

  • Adopt an Enterprise mindset and bring visibility to the Blue Box P&L across the EMEA proprietary markets. For Winning Country by Country, provide visibility and financial insights to CET on country performance and long term plans; ensure we are deploying all funds efficiently in each country, focusing on growth and value creation

  • Evaluate product-line and business-line economics – investments, deals, partnerships and products – with financial analysis based on robust financial modeling, reasoned and thoughtful assumptions and clear, rationale output

  • Partner closely with the acquisition and marketing teams to provide consultative guidance on investment planning, drive engagement and transparency and influence trade-offs to develop a robust investment pipeline, and ensure integrity in the investment decision tools

  • Provide high quality and value-added analysis and presentations on investment performance, product profitability and market trends to influence strategic business decisions

  • Collaborate with the wider Finance organization to deliver critical financial performance processes such as month end, risks and opportunities, forecasting and planning, and long range plans

  • Work closely with the Marketing, Controllership, Risk, Utilities, and other Finance Central teams, providing them with market and finance insights and expertise

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of impactful business partner decision support

  • Strong analytical skills with experience of financial modelling, NPV and data analytics to prepare insights using mass data and P&L and identify key messages including advanced TM1, IDN, SAS and Cornerstone knowledge

  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers and partners across multiple functions and influence others without having direct authority

  • Clear and concise communication skills, able to summarise for finance and non-finance audiences at different seniority levels

  • Ability to work with ambiguity, prioritise work to meet deadlines and manage multiple initiatives, review complex financial data and focus on most critical issues to drive results

  • Comprehensive understanding of Consumer Card economics, especially Charge, Lending & Partnership negotiation key levers

  • University degree, qualified Accountant or equivalent professional qualification, with significant tenure in Finance roles

  • Excellent people leader able to develop and coach talent.
