Global Risk Banking and Compliance (GRBC) work to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control and compliance at American Express in order to successfully identify, monitor and manage risks. Risk Analytics & Capabilities is a part of GRBC that acts as the “Second Line of Defense” in the AXP Risk Management. It provides an independent view of risks faced by AXP. The team is going to be responsible for activities pertaining to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and also on creating the smart monitoring platform which is a real time automated risk monitoring platform.
Purpose of the Role:
Develop KRIs and conduct data analysis to enhance and expand the Smart Monitoring capability for Enterprise Risk Management.
Create key risk indicators (KRIs) for assessing business processes as part of smart monitoring platform.
Mine new data sources to design new risk indicators which can point out a potential gap in the Amex systems using machine learning techniques like text mining, KNN etc.
Maintain and enhance a single view portal of all the KRIs which is easy to understand and use by everybody in the organization.

4 years of experience with data-driven analytics
Preferred: Experience in financial services and risk management.
Post Graduate Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Engineering/Management
Knowledge of risk management and key credit risk metrics • Qualitative solutioning /Problem solving in complex & unstructured environment • Highly detail oriented Preferred: • Ability to understand business problems and create Key Risk Indicators out of it • Partner management skills
Expertise in SAS, SQL
Application of statistical techniques Preferred
Machine learning techniques (Python, R, text mining-KNN)
