The Global Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) Finance team is responsible for financial processes and providing decision support for the TLS leadership team, including P&L management, analysis of financial results with a focus on uncovering strategic insights, preparation of periodic business unit reviews, investment optimization, deal analysis, and other various ad hoc strategic business analysis projects.
The Finance Manager - Travel and Lifestyle Services - US key responsibilities will be:1. P&L management
Continually monitor actual P&L performance to identify risks and opportunities, working with business partners to identify gap closing solutions
Work with business partners to understand and challenge the work-force management decisions, bringing visibility to the choice between the cost vs quality of premium customer travel service provision
Show how core TLS business trends such as digitization are improving the operating leverage of TLS, developing an opinion on what this means for the future business performance
Monitor and report on sale yields working with business partners to make improvements across products and channels
Connecting TLS into wider business and finance processes to ensure that TLS requirements are evaluated alongside other requests.
Bring to business reengineering initiatives, such as ‘Future Is Now’, the financial insights to build, size and drive onto the P&L
Use financial data to generate reengineering ideas and required investments including identifying different efficiency levels across markets, widening use of best practices
Bring visibility to the link between increases in premium cards and the TLS PTI
Understand the impact that card value propositions have on TLS cost and sales profile, identifying improvements whilst working with wider finance and business teams to bring about these improvements
Work across business and market finance teams to ensure that product revitalization business cases incorporate appropriate TLS costs and propose solutions for the optimal work force structure
- 4+ years experience in financial services, payments or travel industry, and/or other finance related roles
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Account/Business is required
MBA/Graduate degree is a plus
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. SAS/SQL) is a plus
Strategic thought leader with the ability to work through unstructured problems and develop clear action plans
Strong aptitude for analytics; demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and draw value-added insights from large amounts of financial data (high proficiency with Excel)
Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be different goals
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral -- with experience leading discussions with Senior Leaders where decisions need to be made based on the facts presented
Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win, ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which places a premium on driving results
Creative thinker who is willing to question traditional ways of doing things and develop new approaches to old challenges
Strong project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to implementation
Passionate focus on the customer; demonstrated desire to understand and solve for customer needs and pain points
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly
Capacity to remain calm and flexible under pressure
