Reporting directly to the VP – FX International Payments (FX IP) Operations and working within a global team, the Director - FX IP Operations will be responsible for the Service Delivery function supporting B2B payment and lending products in existing and new markets within EMEA and Americas regions. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring efficient execution of all processes related to domestic and cross border electronic payments in addition to ensuring effective customer servicing including client account set up, account maintenance and related activities.


The incumbent will manage geographically dispersed teams where customer interaction and processing takes place, be responsible for customer satisfaction, retention and activation in line with GCP strategic growth plans The incumbent is also responsible for effective real-time client and transaction activity monitoring in accordance with compliance responsibilities, settlement risk and control procedures in order to ensure that American Express is fully protected.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing and developing a large team of payment and customer service professionals and maintaining the high level of Employee Engagement within the organisation. The successful candidate must be able to work under their own initiative and maintain focus in a fast paced environment. Whilst striving for work life balance the role will demand some flexibility due to the global nature of the Operations organization.   • Proven track record of delivering results through a matrix and influencing without direct authority.

  • Experience of working across markets, functions and business lines.

  • Excellent relationship management skills - experience of managing relationships at all levels across a variety of internal cross functional departments and externally with suppliers and clients.

  • Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to identify strengths and address development needs within the team.

  • Strong Financial and analytical skills.

  • Excellent Change Management and communication skills.

  • Experience working in service delivery function supporting financial services products and clients is required

  • Experience working with foreign exchange, international and domestic payments products is preferred


Employment Eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
