American Express is hiring a Senior Analyst in the Partnership Marketing Capabilities organization in US Consumer Marketing and Services (CMS) in New York City. This Senior Analyst role reports to the Senior Manager, Partnership Marketing Capabilities. Partnerships (defined as co-brand, distribution and strategic merchant partnerships) represent a substantial portion of total cards/billings acquired, organic growth, and incremental billed business, and is a critical area of focus to drive profitable, efficient and transformational acquisition and customer growth.

 

This role liaises with the Product Development COE product owners and partners with them to co-lead 4 key areas of responsibility; 1) Uses design thinking and scaled Agile principles to define and execute new acquisition marketing digital products and customer experiences, 2) Manages the business development efforts to sell in new products and customer experiences to Partners, 3) Owns the client relationship of integrating our products and experiences in partner owned channels, and 4) owns the strategic roadmap and partner coordination of Agile LPM inputs and outputs for your products and customer experiences.  

Responsibilities

  • Apply scaled agile methodology and principles to deliver world class digital products and customer experiences

  • Using design thinking principles to define and evolve our Partnership Marketing Capabilities short term and midterm product and customer experience roadmap in order to optimize and scale partner channel card acquisition and organic growth across the portfolio

  • Create and maintain product documentation, including flows, requirements, and business rules

  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure timeline and expectations are communicated appropriately

  • Obsess about customer experience and work in support of growing digital engagement of our card members

  • Business owner of specific marketing products or integrations once they are rolled out, in partnership with Technologies, Product COE, or vendors as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience
  • Experience using design thinking principles to define customer experiences and roadmaps

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and ceremonies; Scaled Agile preferred

  • Exposure to APIs and tech infrastructure a plus

  • Organized and results driven with the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Process driven with a high attention to detail

  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence others and challenge the status quo

  • Comfortable working closely with product owners, business owners, and external partners

  • Driven by qualitative and quantitative insights; uncovers key data points to solve problems and support decisions

  • Possesses a natural curiosity of emerging technology and trends; is a critical thinker and problem solver

  • Ability to influence internal and external partners

  • Ability to translate between marketing and technology organizations
