Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) is the merchant acquirer, processor and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept American Express Cards.


GMNS FP&A is a global team that sits within Corporate Planning and is responsible for analyzing internal results, conducting short and long range forecasts (such as monthly R&O, the Long Range Plan and The Annual Plan) and providing key insights to the CFO and their leadership teams in regards to the GMNS business.


This Financial Analyst role for Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) is responsible for managing the monthly reporting of GMNS financial results. The individual will assess the business’ financial performance through reviewing key business drivers and anomalies in trends and share findings with various stakeholders.


This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the American Express Merchant and Network business, as well as exposure to senior leadership.  The Senior Financial Analyst should be a self-motivated, resilient individual who is great at prioritizing tasks and has a team-oriented mind set.  The individual will help streamline processes and reduce time/effort required to execute core processes and deliverables. Individual will also get exposure to ad hoc projects required to enhance the team’s analytics.  This role will report directly to the Manager of the GMNS FP&A team in New York. Individual must be able to take initiative and at times be able to act without authority to meet customer needs. This position will have indirect leadership opportunities within the team.

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of card business model and economics preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required; TM1 experience a plus
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
