American Express Global Corporate Services (GCS) Technology Product Delivery and Integration team is embarking on an exciting transformation driven by an energetic team of highly skilled Project Managers and Leaders. 

Within this role, you will be part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial team responsible for enhancing and supporting Global Commercial Services’ platforms. You will also play a key role in partnering with business and technology colleagues to drive strategic priorities. Our team follows agile methodology and uses the latest distributed development technologies to design, build, test and support software that meets the needs of the business and improve upon it through operational ownership.


Key Responsibilities: 

Responsible for the delivery of small projects and provide management support for Global Corporate Services Technologies (GCST) development projects. 

Tracks and addresses dependencies impacting scrum team outcomes

Breaks down barriers impeding the team from making progress against sprints and deadlines

Organizes and facilitates all scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, etc

Creates an environment of continuous improvement through honest communication and regular retrospectives with the goal to surface issues/concerns and to identify clear action steps

Engages with product owner, business partners, and engineers to understand business needs and facilitate identification of appropriate solutions

Uses technical acumen to enable removal of impediments, ask probing questions, and support team in issue resolution

Communicate with all levels within portfolio organization to build trust, ensure transparency, facilitate decision-making, and coordinate issue resolution

Ensures all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and directs and monitors work efforts on a regular basis


Ensures effective change control procedures and processes are efficiently used to maintain control on scope, schedule and cost


Provides guidance on technology capabilities to business partners. 


Provides regular project status updates and reports to support GCPT, project partners, and Project Steering committee sessions.  


  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience required

  • 2+ years of technical delivery experience

  • Successful candidate will routinely exhibit abilities to effectively plan, coordinate, deploy and manage resources to accomplish project objectives and complete project deliverables.

  • Must have excellent communication and influence skills.

  • Self-starter who is able to function effectively within a diverse and globally-dispersed team.

  • Must be able to identify customer needs, be able to speak to technical issues, and have a track record of driving, creating, and implementing innovative solutions.

  • Experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or similar development processes in support of development teams delivering technology software solutions

  • Familiarity with Rally and/or Jira tools

  • Knowledge of Corporate Services Products/Services and processes is preferred

  • SAFe Scrum Master, PMI or equivalent Certification a plus
