American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated exclusively to the success of businesses around the World. The GCS Marketing team is responsible for the end to end marketing to all GCS customers and prospects in the US and abroad, with the objective to serve commercial customers, and offer the right products and services, with compelling, persuasive, engaging and actionable communications.

 

The US Small Business Marketing team is responsible for integrated marketing to onboard and engage US small business clients.  They help to deepen GCS relationship with our customers through benefit education and reinforcement, product cross-sell and upgrade, and delivery of re-engagement offers and messages. The teams’ remit spans across the customer lifecycle, including early tenure experiences, tenured loyalty marketing and sales/ distribution through customer servicing channels. Leveraging data and analytics, the team is on a mission to build human based marketing segmentation, engagement and offer strategies. 

 

This leader will be responsible for leading and delivering GCS’s focus on deepening our relationships with customers and will play an integral role in driving multi-product relationships across our US Small Business client base.

 

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and drive multi-channel marketing programs working with cross-functional teams

  • Drive early tenure strategies, benefits reinforcement marketing, relationship expansion offers and re-engagement treatments to Small Business card members

  • Partner with colleagues in servicing and operations to maximize sales and engagement through customer servicing interactions

  • Serve as a lead business partner to Data and Analytics Teams to develop customer segmentation, and marketing and personalization capabilities

  • Re-engage disengaged clients by delivering outbound engagement treatments through phone and direct marketing

  • Collaborate across multiple partners (Merchant Services, Product Management, Enterprise Digital and Analytics, Finance, Risk, and Agency teams)

  • Continuously optimize investments based on monthly performance, product / channel NPVs and ROI targets

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience managing large cross-functional teams

  • Success motivating and influencing internal partners, agencies and external partners and vendors

  • Strong strategic and creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling sales strategies and translate into successful executions

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Proven track record on driving performance marketing results

  • Proven ability to take risks, think big and bold, and history of innovation

  • B2B expertise, marketing analytics and acquisition experience a plus 

  • Position is located in New York; American Express is open to providing relocation assistance.
