This role supports HR (Human Resources) Director in the definition of Human Resources Mexico Market Employee Plan and provides strategic input and manages the execution of some initiatives within the plan.

This position requires working in a fast pace and rapid changing environment, project management to work well under tight deadlines, successfully manage multiple relationships at all band levels and have strategic and leadership capabilities.

Market HR Manager role is focused on some of the following key HR priorities, annually the focus areas might change among members of MHR team: One American Express / Local Talent Planning / Colleague Development / Colleague Engagement and Advocacy One American Express:

Supports the creation of the Market Colleague Plan

Partners with COEs to implement global solutions balancing consistency with local relevance

Leads a strong employment brand for American Express in the Market, working with business leaders and COEs. Leads CES and Employer of Choice initiatives

Identifies the collective development needs of the Market through talent reviews, leadership insights and employee feedback

Creates a development strategy for the broader colleague base as well as specific plans for addressing the needs of the high potential talent in Market using centrally created solutions

Partners with the global COEs to ensure the global strategy is inclusive of Market needs

Leads and execute a Market specific talent management strategy that is ongoing and transcends the talent processes resulting in actions such as targeted development talent moves

Develops and executing Market engagement initiatives

Enables the end-to-end employee experience at a Market level

Represents the voice of employees and the needs of the Market

Ensures area/site compliance with HR policies, local workforce laws and regulations

Develops and execute the talent strategy for some colleagues in the Market, with the support of COEs and HRBPs as needed

Supports talent review process to provide input to the HRBP and COE

Leading and executing a Market specific talent management strategy that is ongoing and transcends in talent moves

Supports and deploys local initiatives and represents AXP in local communities in partnership with business leaders and the Corporate Communications team. Local Talent Planning

Plays a key role in leading talent planning initiatives.

Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team to ensure a broader understanding of Business needs as well as talent pipeline Employee Development

Ensures appropriate development & engagement experiences are in place within the market.

Works closely with Global HR team that design Development Programs to ensure an effective local deployment.

Ensures compliance with HR policies, local workforce laws and regulations.

Ensures execution of performance management process (goals, mid-year, year-end Process) at the Market level.

Leads the HR function in delivering colleague engagement / advocacy initiatives.

Creates and updates the monthly MHR dashboard with key metrics to make decisions

Leading the “One AXP” approach across the market and collaborates and develop the MHR team

Months in their actual position:
For level 25 to 30: 12 months.
For level 30 to 35: 18 months.
For level 40 to 45: 24 months.

Advanced English
Previous experience (~ 2-5 years) in Talent Management. 9Box knowledge, talent designations or any other Talent Evaluation methodology.
Basic knowledge in Organizational Development.
Necessary leadership behaviors: bring others with you, external perspective, define how it looks to win.
