The Global Consumer Lending organization is focused on developing innovative products and evolving the portfolio in a way that transforms how American Express meets Cardmember borrowing needs in an ever-changing landscape. Offering Cardmembers enhanced flexibility to pay charges over time is a critical component to this transformation and a tremendous driver of profitability for American Express.

 

The Senior Manager is an integral member of the product team, providing critical support in this payment flexibility evolution for the Global Consumer Lending business. The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated, strategic thinker who thrives in a cross-functional environment and can leverage strong analytical skills and a customer-first mindset to uncover insights that drive growth for the business.



Responsibilities:

  • Inform strategic decisions, address opportunities for feature enhancements and help shape the overall product roadmap through analysis of customer performance and portfolio dynamics

  • Monitor product performance and lead the design & development of an automated product dashboard and reporting tool

  • Present critical insights to Senior Leadership at various forums on a monthly and ad-hoc basis

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Green/Gold/Platinum Card Teams, Analytics, Risk, Pricing, Finance, Operational Excellence, Technology and Marketing

  • Create clear and compelling presentation materials that convey product strategy and key decisions across the portfolio

  • Support strategic projects and product capability enhancements as needed

  • Oversee customer complaint tracking process and product operational excellence monitoring

  • Manage a high performing Senior Analyst

Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker. You are intellectually curious and have superior analytical and problem-solving skills to help unlock value.

  • Compelling communicator. You have a strong professional presence and can effectively synthesize, visualize and communicate your ideas to others.

  • Analytics expert. You are proficient in SQL and/or Adobe Analytics and have experience with data visualization in Tableau or a similar tool.

  • Team player. You have strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners.

  • Self-starter. You have a proven ability to drive and manage multiple projects with minimal guidance.

  • Relevant experience. You have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 3-5 years of analytics experience, preferably in financial services.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
