Lead a team of Account/Business Development Managers within Commercial Payments in Germany
Develop, lead and motivate a high-performing team to demonstrate American Express’ value proposition to corporations and drive superb results in American Express charge volumes
Renegotiate independently global and regional account contracts & implement pricing initiatives according to latest standards/policies
Lead the team in identifying business expansion opportunities, closing gaps and developing strategic account plans to drive business
Manage team performance to meet/exceed results according to defined goals & scorecards
Cultivate a culture of learning and consultative selling account/business development management
Broaden and deepen American Express senior contacts across the client’s organization with influencers and stakeholders
Embrace the fast changing payments landscape and keep current with supply and demand, payment trends, economic and competitive indicators
Reports directly to Director Large Market Sales and Account Development
Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Business administration university studies or similar degree
Ideally 6-8 years team leader responsibility within sales, business development or account management
Understands short- and long-term goals and can handle details to ensure successful completion
Comfortably operating on tight timeframes and making recommendations based on limited information
Consultative selling approach and challenger mindset
Willing and able to contribute directly to team efforts and results
Strong relationship management, sales, influencing and negotiation skills, including with C-level executives
Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate & influence both internally & externally
Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills
Able to demonstrate a flexible approach in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Track record of outstanding people leadership skills and focus on developing strong talent
Has strong written/oral presentation skills in German/English
Willingness to travel intensively
Proven ability to drive innovation and change; think from client perspective
Ability to balance American Express and client priorities to deliver results according scorecard
