The Director of Strategic Acquisition will define the direction for the team and provide coaching and development for all his/her direct reports as well as partnering with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to drive forward the 3-year UK coverage plan. Developing strong & collaborative working relationships with key internal stakeholders and C-level contacts in key accounts will be a critical requirement for success.
The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader with extensive sales experience and a track record of delivering outstanding results against sales targets.
He/she will ideally have had direct experience of driving results in a field sales environment preferably at an institutional or large corporate level and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to engender a strong teamwork spirit in a challenging landscape & flexible workspace environment.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Develop and execute the strategy for the Global Merchant & Network (GMS) Strategic Acquisition Team with focus on UK Coverage targets and high value prospects.
Provide the drive, energy and enthusiasm required to inspire a senior sales team.
Build trust with team members to ensure they have the confidence, training, tools and capability to meet/exceed their goals.
Demonstrate strong pipeline management and progress of deals.
Develop new and creative sales tools and price options, in conjunction with internal teams, to drive negotiations with merchants.
Forecast where the team expects to close the month / year relative to target.
Provide thought leadership in developing winning strategies to acquire new business, accelerate the sales cycle and penetrate new industries.
Partner with key GMS teams including Strategic Alliances, Client Management, Payments Consulting, Pricing, Finance, Marketing etc to optimise the merchant experience.
Partner with issuers & other lines of business to focus the efforts of the team and help achieve broader enterprise goals.
Manage all contractual and budgetary matters related to the Strategic Acquisition channel.
