You will partner closely with Data Stewards, Data Custodians, Enterprise Data Management, Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to define and execute the vision and roadmap for one of our most critical and innovative platforms.

 

As a Finance Data Manager, you'll be providing your leadership to a project team of Data Architects and Data Engineers, working at both the strategic and execution levels of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe); understanding and analyzing project requirements; supporting the development of a data platform that acquires data from disparate systems to be enriched in a streaming data platform and standardized for multiple uses across the entire Finance community. Our data needs to be processed and stored quickly, accurately and safely. You'll have knowledge of a variety of database, metadata and transformation technologies, keeping up with the latest industry trends. The Finance Data Manager is a collaborator, a well-organized, action-oriented team player with exceptional leadership and time management skills, confident in presenting, facilitating, and building a network of strong relationships across our organization.  


No two days are the same, but the Finance Data Manager’s responsibilities can include:

  • Understanding governance, compliance, audit, regulatory and audit requirements, and ensuring that these are factored into our technical solutions
  • Collaborate on the definition and implementation of a metadata strategy

  • Profile and analyze data from disparate systems and build source to target mappings that standardize and enrich our data

  • Facilitating workshops between engineering and business colleagues to build a shared understanding of domain problems and work towards a consensus on solutions.

  • Build and actively manage a product backlog of features and managing work allocation of scrum teams by prioritizing user stories and coordinating with other Product Owners



Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience, of which at least 2 years in metadata, data governance, or data transformation; Financial Industry preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge and implementation experience on metadata practices such as data lineage, data dictionaries, business glossaries, source system inventories, etc.

  • Experience with data profiling and data transformation best practices, technologies and tools.

  • Experience working under Agile/Scrum/Kanban project methodologies preferred

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and relationship skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collect business requirements and use them to guide implementation of a technical solution

  • Experience with some of: metadata and data lineage tools, relational database technologies, ETL tools and languages, SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Postgres, data analysis tools such as Ab Initio or Informatica Analyst, JSON, XML

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive, ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently.
