Prospect Acquisition is one of the largest investments in Global Consumer Services Group (GCSG) and Enterprise Digital and Analytics (EDA) team creates central, scalable marketing solutions and analytics capabilities to accelerate growth in many core business areas including Digital Acquisitions.


This role in EDA will be responsible for analytics and digital targeting to support GCSG in meeting the prospect acquisition goals. Working in close partnership with Global Channel Marketing, Product and Lending teams, the incumbent is expected to design and implement effective acquisition strategies across our global Affiliate and Cobrand partnerships. The incumbent is expected to advance data driven precision marketing techniques using world class analytics and data science, in collaborating across a variety of teams including Marketing, Capabilities, Technologies and vendors to drive results and help American Express achieve its acquisition goals with improved efficiency and quality. This role requires a strong background in acquisition analytics, digital technology and exceptional quantitative and problem solving skills. The candidate will lead a team of 6 analytics experts and data scientists.

  • Partner with multiple stakeholders across business units and geographies to drive testing and implementation of new ideas and processes




  • Strong ability to drive results; self starter

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to influence external partners, colleagues and senior leaders with clear thinking, robust analysis and strong business intuition

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in banking or financial services (credit cards, digital analytics and capabilities), using quantitative analysis to solve business problems

  • Experience utilizing SQL, R, VBA, and SAS is required

  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Python or other big data tools highly desired

  • Demonstrated experience in advanced analytics, including data mining, statistical modeling, time series analysis, and financial risk management

  • Degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering or finance combined with a Masters or other secondary professional qualification
