Third-party Lifecycle Management (TLM) is responsible for supporting AEMP10 through the initiation of Risk Assessments and various related activities to ensure American Express is managing third-party vendors from a risk perspective. 


This Manager will play a key role within the TLM shared services team which resides within the American Express Global Supply Management group. The position will report to the Director of the Third Party Management and will be responsible for leading a team of Compliance Analysts. This manager will lead a team through the day to day operations of initiating and completing risk assessments and supporting the Business Unites (BUs)   through ongoing management of the vendors.


The ideal candidate for this role has an extensive background in risk management and/or audit experience.  S/he is dynamic, with the ability to manage a fluctuating workload with competing deadlines. The candidate is highly inquisitive with a healthy dose of cautiousness. S/he has a broad-based perspective and thrives on building a network of internal and external alliances. S/he has highly developed communication skills, excellent time management and an acute attention to detail. 


Job Scope/Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead a team of Compliance Analysts and provide direction to facilitate execution of risk assessments, due diligence reviews and post-contract monitoring of Third Parties

  • Maintain and review data related to Third Party portfolios for multiple BUs 

  • Provide support to the TLM group and processes

  • Partner with TLM Technology Team to ensure system updates are captured

  • Partner with the Global Supply Management (GSM) Category Managers to ensure proper understanding and submission for Intake requests

  • Assist with analysis and reporting related to TLM lifecycle as needed

  • Understand/develop solid understanding of TLM  to implement strategies for ongoing success of the program



  • BA or BS in Supply Chain Management,  Business, Finance or equivalent degree Bachelor's degree or other related field (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry focus on Operations; including leading people and working with complex and dynamic functions and solutions

  • Proven ability to be resilient to keep the pace with changes while driving results 

  • Demonstrated growth mindset to take up initiative to incorporate new points of view within the program boundaries

  • Proven ability to influence decisions to advance organization’s goals

  • Proven ability to handle complex work assignments and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Highly analytical with the ability to identify the detailed information while keeping the big picture in perspective

  • Demonstrated ability to enhance team member’s professional skills development

  • Highly desirable experience in data management and Excel proficiency
