Network Certification and Servicing is part of the American Express Network Services and Operations within the Global Merchant Services and Loyalty organization. Network Certification and Servicing core focus is to ensure all Network participants (Issuers and Acquirers) can successfully transact with the American Express Network. To do this Network Certification and Servicing performs the following activities customer readiness, vendor certification/management, performance metrics monitoring, financial reconciliation, point of sale (POS) certifications and various process improvement initiatives.

The role will be responsible for management and development of the Network Test environment as required for the testing and certification of Network Participants. The test environment is a key system that ensures that Network Participants can accept American Express a wide range payment products and capabilities. This is highly visible role and in addition will manage and act as the liaison between external business partners, various internal American Express technology and business groups ensuring successful test tool development and implementation.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • 3rd party vendor relationship management including statement of work and contracts
  • Requirements gathering, development of user stories and associated documentation
  • Alignment with Stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Communication planning
  • User acceptance strategy and alignment with User Acceptance and Support teams
  • Development forecasting and prioritization

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • A deep understanding of credit card transaction processing

  • Ability to priorities development to meet business needs

  • Understanding or Agile development methodologies

  • Experience writing clear user stories that can used by developers

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong change management skills

  • Collaborative mind set is a must

  • Proven experience influencing without authority

  • Must be able to communicate effectively at varying levels of the organization

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred 

Additional skills:

  • Experience leading a technical project team

  • Knowledge of user acceptance testing

  • Understanding of the Emerging Payments (EMV, Contactless, Transit, Tokenization)

  • Spanish bilingual a plus but not required

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
