Financial Analyst

Job Description

The Financial Analyst enjoys a hybrid role delivering all external reporting returns to ANZ regulators and also interacts with a variety of groups across Finance & Controllership to improve processes through optimisation, incorporating various forms of automation and next-generation tools. The ideal candidate is expected to have combination of project management, finance and technical knowledge and a strong will to grow and learn.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare and deliver on time the monthly and quarterly financial reports to the regulators
  • Implement and maintain integrity of the financial reporting process and controls to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in Economic & Financial Statistics (EFS) audit and review activities by external auditors
  • Evaluate in-depth manual processes, assess viability of automation, tools required and drive process optimization & improvement
  • Develop, implement and maintain process solutions & analytics by using advanced Excel functionality and related new age technologies
  • Create End to End development roadmaps, monitor and report progress.
  • Resolve issues and remove roadblocks, coordinate with SMEs and development team to perform comprehensive and robust testing including parallel runs and facilitate deployment via standard AET processes.
  • Prepare process owner support documentation
  • Generate MIS reporting using multiple data sources
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in reporting and analytics capabilities & support market controllership teams in driving solutions
  • Participate in other projects as required

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strategic thought leadership; superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working with Technologies, SMEs and Systems to understand requirements, assess functional and system flows & linkages, and partnering with development resources to drive optimal POA design
  • Experience to the automation tools and programing languages like Python, SQL & VBA. Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to learn new software and processes quickly. Ability to document and coordinate with SMEs and development resources during delivery life cycle
  • Team player who is flexible and maintains a positive attitude even during changing work priorities
  • Self-motivated with superior organizational/time management skills and a dynamic, positive and energetic attitude
  • Problem solving, planning and analytical skills to facilitate and focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate across geographies and flexible to work across multiple time zones
  • Experience on following systems highly desired – Oracle, Essbase, TM1, OBIEE, Tableau, Cornerstone
