American Express is looking for a leader to manage the American Express Developer Portal and Partner Integrations, to help drive our suite of products and processes with our partners.
Working with Strategy, Compliance and across all business units, the Partner Integrations team is part the Enterprise Digital Application & Platforms (EDAPS) team and Is responsible for developing our Third-Party Development Portal, developing a third-party API strategy, operationalizing and supporting this strategy, and working with governments and businesses to provide solutions for user needs.
Additionally, this leader will use the recent Open Banking laws in Europe to provide compliance direction and grow our partnerships more broadly.
We’re seeking an experienced Product Leader who:
Is passionate about developer tooling and has a history of shipping successful software
Understands the needs of, and builds empathy with, partner businesses and governments to offer customers a first-class experience with American Express
Will be a strong Product Manager with deep technical expertise in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and optimizing product delivery lifecycles
Has a solid understanding of DevOps principles and the chain of systems required to effectively deliver the product
Has the ability to own the services, tools, and process as a product
Is able to keep up with trends and anticipating developer needs to provide solutions that are compelling to users
Specifically, this role will give you the opportunity to:
Learn from our ecosystem app developers and their experience adopting our APIs and goals. You will become the advocate and champion for partners
Translate your understanding into prioritized platform upgrades that you will manage throughout the entire development lifecycle. This includes managing roadmaps, schedules, dependencies backlogs, deadlines, documentation, testing, communication
Analyze developer feedback through surveys, interviews, support, and qualitative feedback
Run the business of providing a developer portal from intake through contract to production
Solve complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges with your team of engineers, often clarifying goals, trade-offs, and risks
Keep the team aligned and informed in ambiguous situations by asking the right questions and focusing on high-quality communication, outcomes and outputs

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline and/or relevant experience
Product Manager or Engineer experience preferable
Proven success in product outcomes from problem definition through deployed software
Comfortable talking about technical matters with leadership, marketing, and operations—and comfortable talking about goals, strategy, and adoption matters with our engineers and business leaders
Ability to express concepts in plain language to reach broad audiences and motivate team
Experience combining customer research, metrics, quantitative, and qualitative feedback to derive clear priorities that will move platform KPIs an asset
Experience building roadmaps, project/release plans with a strong understanding of dependency management desirable
