The EMEA Merchant Acquisition Sales organization is a growing sales team of different nationalities speaking more than 28 languages based in Madrid. Our teams successfully acquire and manage relationships with merchants in European Markets.

What do we expect from you?

 

The successful candidate will be a driven and resourceful individual who is able to quickly engage with potential merchants and clearly articulate the benefits of acceptance to a range of different types of business.

 

He/She will manage a portfolio of relevant and sometimes complex high value and high potential merchants to maximize business and revenue growth through proactively identifying opportunities.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Grow the AMEX acceptance network in the UK by self-prospecting and following up on leads by phone to sign new Merchants

  • End to end ownership of a lead, from first contact through to closing the sale, account set up and ensuring that they are able to fully benefit from Accepting Amex in their establishment

  • Participate in tactical sales campaigns throughout the year

  • Retaining (and expanding when possible) charge volumes and revenues

  • Maintain and grow active locations.

  • Improve merchant satisfaction measured through annual survey

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Fluent level of English written and spoken, other languages are a plus
  • Background working for/in the UK market

  • Previous Sales experience is a plus

  • Willing to sell, driven by objectives, ambitious and communicative

  • Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills; excellent objection handling

  • Knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Access and PowerPoint, Salesforce a bonus)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to set priorities to achieve goals

  • Accountability and ownership
