American Express Travel Related Services seeks Staff Architects to drive technology transformation and modernize legacy platforms for payment process in global processing environment. Engage with cross-functional teams to define business objectives and devise enterprise architectural paradigms and solutions. Participate in real time, high available, and highly scalable application development as a member of enterprise architecture team. Integrate complex IT concepts into viable software applications in line with the payment card industry standards. Conduct design reviews and support software engineers and project managers in rapid development and deployment of applications.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with technical design, delivery, and monitoring of applications in an environment of rapid development, innovation, and continuous improvement. Experience must include a minimum of: 3 years of experience with architecture, applications systems design, and integration techniques; 3 years of experience with business system analysis; 3 years of experience with delivering industry leading solutions to market; 3 years of experience with translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences; 3 years of experience with coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, engaging technical and non-technical expertise to satisfy business needs; 3 years of experience with object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms; 3 years of experience with modern API enablement, product management, and SaaS; 3 years of experience with Agile application development methodology; 3 years of experience with using noSQL datastores like Cassandra, Redis and relational databases; 3 years of experience with Akka, Apache Kafka, Java, J2EE, JSON, REST, and Spring Boot; and 1 year of experience with Apache Spark, Docker, and Kubernetes.
