Job Description

American Express Company seeks Directors, Treasury to maintain brokered certificate of deposit programs and sweep deposit programs.  Monitor medium term notes programs, including execution of notes issuance, performance of business due diligence, and maintenance of registration statements and offering circulars.  Forecast daily working capital needs and execution of CP issuance.  Develop strategy for sweep deposit, BCD, and unsecured debt programs, including analyzing ongoing and contingent funding opportunities. Execute investment of excess cash in deposits and/or marketable securities.  Participate in Treasury-wide initiatives, including rating agency presentations, business unit reviews, funding meetings, and market risk committee meetings.  Prepare and provide supporting data for public filings.  Plan and arrange debt investor marketing events.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, and 3 years of experience with capital markets management and providing solutions to funding and liquidity issues.  Experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with comprehensive capital analysis and review submissions by conducting capital stress testing; 2 years of experience with scenario analysis for regulatory changes and business transformation initiatives; 2 years of experience with forecasting company’s annual funding and capital plans, including refinancing, hedging strategies, and contingent funding options; 2 year of experience with devising enhanced capabilities for anticipating changes, including streamlining cumulative translation adjustment forecasting; and 2 years of experience with Basel III, capital optimization, contingency planning, Monte Carlo VaR Analysis, and Peer Analysis.
