Job Description

American Express Company seeks Directors, Risk Management to create risk infrastructure across product lifecycles for targeting and underwriting, customer management, and collections.  Develop credit risk capabilities and processes for enabling supplier payments acceleration in large B2B market.  Drive the development of models and tools to define target population, as well as devise and implement credit policies and procedures for underwriting and deal structuring.  Partner with product team, sales, and account development on client-specific opportunities to grow the business.  Strategize credit risk work stream plan, business milestones, and work stream integration for driving a sustainable balance sheet for commercial portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with credit risk management and analytics.  Experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with developing customer management policies and capabilities for exposure management, delinquency management, and limit management for credit cards; 2 years of experience with analyzing credit risk data from credit bureaus, internal data sources including financial statements, and systems and data management processes; 2 years of experience with data visualization techniques and business intelligence tools, including Microstrategy and Tableau; 2 years of experience with Sybase, Teradata, and MS Excel for spreadsheet modeling and reporting; 2 years of experience with coding in a Big Data environment using Hadoop and Hive; and 2 years of experience with SAS and SQL.
